On November 10th, the "Zhuhai-Macao University Students' Entrepreneurship Star Seedling Plan Series - Entrepreneurship Training Seminar" was held in Room L308 of the Sino-Portuguese Building at the City University of Macau. This event was hosted by the Zhuhai Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, organized by the Zhuhai Talent Resources and Employment Service Center, and co-organized by the Student Affairs Office and the Graduate Student Union of the City University of Macau. It featured Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area lawyer Huang Jingxi and external professor Zeng Peng from Zhuhai College of Beijing Institute of Technology as the main speakers.
Before the seminar began, Zou Chenchong, Director of the Student Affairs Office, delivered a welcome speech, thanking the organizers and speakers for their presence. He expressed his hope for more collaborations with Zhuhai and encouraged students to participate actively and ask questions.
Huang Jingxi, the first speaker, discussed the development opportunities for Guangdong-Macao youth from the perspective of legal professionals. He highlighted how the Greater Bay Area, under the "One Country, Two Systems" framework, leverages policies from central and local governments to enhance cooperation between the Mainland and Macao. He introduced talent recruitment plans, major industry development goals, and the "Macau Special Administrative Region Economic Diversification Development Plan (2024-2028)," encouraging students to explore these policies and prepare for their futures.
Zeng Peng's lecture, titled "Want to Start a Business? Solve Your Problems and Pain Points," adopted an interactive approach, engaging students in role-playing exercises to stimulate entrepreneurial thinking. He emphasized the importance of market research, clear business focus, and entry strategy during the early stages of entrepreneurship. Zeng expressed his interest in returning to CityU to offer more in-depth entrepreneurial guidance.
The students were highly engaged, actively interacting and taking notes. They gained a deeper understanding of entrepreneurship, receiving valuable insights to guide their future plans.
Yu Junzhu, Master's Student in the School of Education
I am very grateful for the opportunity to attend this seminar. In the two hours of learning and growth, I gained new insights into innovation and entrepreneurship. Mr. Huang Jingxi used his wealth of legal cases to broaden our vision, while Mr. Zeng Peng’s interactive methods brought us closer to the practical world of business and entrepreneurship, breaking through conventional thinking patterns. Targeting specific demographics, finding "small entry points" in a saturated market, I gained a lot. I deeply admire their sincerity in advising us to focus on employment before venturing into entrepreneurship.
Rong Gaoyu, Master's Student in the School of Education
This entrepreneurship seminar greatly benefited me. I particularly enjoyed Mr. Zeng Peng’s presentation; he was approachable and immediately connected with the students, making us feel at ease. Through role-playing, he allowed us to experience the challenges and opportunities entrepreneurs face at the start, guiding us through a series of thought-provoking questions. Every student enjoyed the session and gained valuable insights.
Through this seminar, I learned that entrepreneurship requires not only good ideas and creativity but also determination and action. I also realized the importance of self-learning and continuous improvement in the entrepreneurial process. I hope the school invites Mr. Zeng Peng to give more seminars in the future, as this one left me wanting more!
