Champion: Yushangcheng
Chen Guangshun, Yang Yan, Liu Xiaokang, Liang Wenbin, Tian Yuan, Zhang Jiamian, Liang Nan, Zang Di, Qi Mingyu
China is an agricultural powerhouse, but it is nearly impossible to grow crops in arid sandy lands. The Yushangcheng brand provides high-quality solutions to the challenges of professionalizing wheat planting technology, upgrading the industry, and improving market competitiveness in arid sandy lands, enabling comprehensive modernization and full automation of wheat agriculture.
With the guidance and recognition from the judges, we are more convinced that wheat can be grown in arid sandy fields. We hope that our products, through big data simulation and projections, can expand the arid sandy areas in various regions with Macao as a platform, contributing to the development of wheat agriculture in our country and leveraging the Belt and Road Initiative as a starting point for global sustainable wheat development.
Runner-Up: Chao Feng
Wang Xu, Huang Hong, Xiao Hengyue, Cheng Bowen, Ma Hanlin, Yang Jizhou, Li Bochao
By creating an immersive offline experience center and combining online profitability and traffic generation, we attract tourists with popular new formats. The intangible cultural heritage of Chaoshan is rich in profound historical and cultural value, and we protect and inherit Chaoshan culture by developing innovative products. This not only meets modern market demands but also highlights regional characteristics. By integrating Chaoshan intangible cultural heritage into the creative industry, we create unique products and experiences that attract more consumer and investor attention.
We are very grateful to City University of Macau for providing the Chao Feng team with a valuable opportunity to showcase our project and promote Chaoshan culture. We especially appreciate the valuable feedback from the judges, which has greatly inspired our team. We recognize the importance of intellectual property protection for our team’s achievements, and we will take necessary measures to ensure that our innovations are legally protected to safeguard our interests and encourage ongoing innovation. Moreover, the judges highlighted the importance of customer repurchase and long-term support after customer experiences. This reminds us that in addition to creating an attractive initial experience for customers, we must also focus on how to maintain their ongoing interest and loyalty. To achieve this, we will explore effective customer relationship management strategies and innovative marketing methods to ensure that customers continue to support our project after their experiences. We will refine our project based on the judges' suggestions and actively interact with our mentors. We believe that through proactive communication and project refinement, combined with effective guidance from mentors, we can create a more complete and professional project plan.
Third Place: LATTA Technology
Ding Hui, Guo Te, Xu Minghe, Xu Zihang, Lao Yanming, Huang Kexiang, Jiang Yuchao
China has the largest number of blind individuals in the world, and with the continuous expansion of the global healthcare market, our team focuses on the vast blind population in the country. We aim to address the many obstacles they face in daily life, such as unreasonable blind path planning and low prevalence of guide dogs, by developing spatial super-sensory intelligent guide glasses that offer scene restoration, dual-sense interaction, and intelligent navigation functions to solve the mobility difficulties of blind individuals.
We are grateful to CityU for providing us with a platform to communicate with industry experts. Through this competition, we have gained a lot of professional advice, which will guide the further development and improvement of our project. Moving forward, we will combine expert opinions to pursue modular patent applications for product functions and establish connections with rehabilitation associations and special schools to gradually enhance device functionality, promoting the intelligent development of guide products and leading the way for blind individuals to travel safely toward a brighter future.
The awards were presented by Wang Xiaojin, Secretary-General of the Shenzhen Enterprise Human Resources Development Promotion Association, Chen Shan, President of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubation Base, and Li Xi, Executive Vice Dean of the School of International Tourism and Management at CityU. Judges' summary and comments on this competition:
Chen Shan: I believe that a good project must first be "sustainable." Secondly, it must address real pain points, allowing everyone to feel, "This is the problem I want to solve." If you cannot find these pain points, I think you lack the sensitivity to detect market demands. Thirdly, do not aim too high; student entrepreneurs should strive for projects that are small yet precise. By satisfying a specific need, you enhance the chances of survival, growth, and successful implementation of the project.
Wang Xiaojin: The number of successful entrepreneurs is indeed lower than one might think, so we must adopt innovative thinking. In our campus competitions, everyone should not focus too much on winning or losing, but rather understand that success relies on teamwork and everyone fulfilling their roles. Regarding future development trends, whether it is big data, AI, or new energy, we can only estimate society's pain points and the problems that need to be solved. The competition is intense, so the key for us to focus on is solving a small issue. Once that problem is thoroughly resolved, our entrepreneurship will succeed.
Ding Xiaoyun: First and foremost, practicality is essential. Secondly, as students, returning to study after many experiences, today’s competition might be a little awkward and a fresh beginning for everyone. This competition will not be our final ending, nor will it dictate whether students will truly embark on entrepreneurship, but I believe participating in the competition is worthwhile. I saw some students presenting their business canvases, and their overall presentation in theory and communication was remarkable, so everyone should have confidence in themselves. Finally, I hope that students do not get overly entangled in the results; often, student entrepreneurship competitions or projects are learning processes, and the knowledge gained during this process, as well as connections made with peers and mentors, are extremely valuable.
Li Xi: When I consider the entrepreneurial projects presented by students, I tend to focus on their core value and core competitiveness. I hope that students can think about what irreplaceable value their products can bring to consumers or users. In the students' presentations, I hope everyone considers what values other products cannot offer but we can provide to consumers.
Youth writes the future, and innovation fulfills dreams. Through this competition, each entrepreneurial team received thoughtful guidance from expert judges. Additionally, teams learned from each other during the competition, absorbing lessons and improving continuously. The "CityU Cup" College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition ignited the entrepreneurial passion of university students, showcasing their innovative spirit and entrepreneurial awareness, while effectively enhancing their capabilities in innovation and entrepreneurship. In this competition, we witnessed the boldness and spirit of CityU students who dare to dream and create, reflecting the vibrant entrepreneurial atmosphere of CityU. Congratulations on the successful conclusion of the "CityU Cup" Second College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition!
