The "City University of Macau Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum & Product Launch", organized by the Ung Choi Kun Entrepreneurship and Career Centre of City University of Macau and co - organized by the Alumni Association, Student Union, and Graduate Student Association, was held on December 4th at HG02 of the Ho Yin Convention Centre of City University of Macau. The event aimed to jointly explore new opportunities in innovation and entrepreneurship and witness the product launch of the university's entrepreneurial teams.
The guests attending this event included: Ng Choi Kun, Vice - Chairman of the Board of Trustees of City University of Macau; Chan Hok Wai, Head of the Student Affairs Department of the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau; Chan Chon Pat, Associate Vice - President of City University of Macau; Tian Yihui, Associate Dean of the School of Business of City University of Macau; Zhu Tianqing, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Data Science of City University of Macau; Liang Yanchun, Dean of the School of Computer Science of Zhuhai College of Science and Technology; Zhu Tianyuan, Director of the Laboratory of the School of Computer Science of Zhuhai College of Science and Technology; Liao Xinjun, Chairman of the Macau Institute for Governance, Intelligence and People; Wu Sujin, Chairman of Rongguan Yunzhou; Wang Sheng, President of the Jiangsu Alumni Association of City University of Macau and Secretary of the General Party Branch of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship College of Yangzhou Polytechnic Institute; Ma Jun, President of the Guangxi Alumni Association of City University of Macau and Dean of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship College of Nanning University; and Zou Chenchong, Head of the Student Affairs Office of City University of Macau.
When delivering a speech, Chan Chon Pat, Associate Vice - President of City University of Macau, warmly welcomed the guests from all sectors and the entrepreneurial teams and expressed gratitude to Ng Choi Kun, Vice - Chairman of the Board of Trustees, for his strong support to the Entrepreneurship and Career Centre. He emphasized that City University of Macau would continue to uphold the spirit of innovation, be committed to promoting entrepreneurship education and practice, provide more resources and platforms for students, and help them fulfill their entrepreneurial dreams. Subsequently, Ng Choi Kun, Vice - Chairman of the Board of Trustees, presented letters of appointment as entrepreneurship advisors to Wang Sheng and Ma Jun to recognize their contributions to entrepreneurship education and practice.
Meanwhile, the product launch of Yushangcheng, an incubated team of the Ung Choi Kun Entrepreneurship and Career Centre, was also held. At the launch, Chen Guangshun, the team leader and a Ph.D. student in Business Administration at City University of Macau, introduced the product and shared his entrepreneurial experience. He pointed out that the product, by leveraging advanced technology, could significantly improve the current situation of the agricultural market, successfully cultivate plants on land originally unsuitable for wheat cultivation, bringing new possibilities to agricultural innovation and winning warm applause.
Next, the forum invited two entrepreneurship advisors to give special lectures. Wang Sheng, based on his own experience, deeply explained entrepreneurship strategies and the challenges in the process of practice. Subsequently, Ma Jun, through case analysis and insights, elaborated on the details that needed attention during the participation in entrepreneurship competitions and how to formulate effective strategies to improve performance and the probability of success in the competitions, inspiring the entrepreneurs and students present.
At the end of the forum, the eight teams that advanced to the final of the "CityU Cup" Entrepreneurship Competition were announced, kicking off the afternoon's competition.
This forum not only demonstrated the active efforts of City University of Macau in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship but also provided a valuable communication platform for students and entrepreneurs. In the future, City University of Macau will continue to be committed to supporting youth entrepreneurship and contributing to the innovative development of Macau and the Greater Bay Area.
